Senior Staff Application Engineer (Video Processing)

Job Description

ADAS application engineer for video input and ISP processing (f/m/d)

You will develop proof-of-concept software for video input processing in automotive applications on the Renesas R-CAR Vx SOC exploiting video features using external camera modules, deserializer, MIPI-CSI2 interface and ISP. You will discuss requirements for the next-generation ADAS products that comprise tools, software and hardware. You will utilize existing code libraries as the base for complete computer vision applications. You will further grow the scope of those libraries for use in generic ADAS application contexts.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Bring up video input pipeline on R-CAR Vx hardware platforms and with model/simulator

  • Pre-developing video software features in collaboration with multiple teams, debug and fix related bugs

  • Prototyping video input processing features for future products and design

  • Understand and define KPI and do performance evaluations

  • Discuss requirements for future ADAS products i.e., tools, software and hardware with the respective system architecture and development teams

  • Document proof-of-concept code and benchmark results and provide meaningful application notes

  • Support Renesas’ automotive customers with Renesas R-CAR video pipeline and debug reported issues as well as providing proof-of-concept code

Qualifications

  • Relevant embedded programming and debugging skills with C/Cpp on a system similar to R-CAR SOC

  • Experience with software design with Linux OS (software design with QNX is a plus)

  • Proven track record in software development

  • Ability to work with simulator and hardware environment as well as flashing of a device

  • Proven track record for camera bring up with embedded system

  • Proven experience with automotive camera sensors, HDR pipeline, color spaces & formats

  • Basic knowledge about image tuning

  • Experience working with ARM architectures

  • An academic degree in Computer Science, Electronics or similar

  • Work independently in an international team with several internal stakeholders​

  • Team player having good communication skills and very good English in speech and writing​
