Citigroup Head of New Zealand TTS & Corporate, Commercial and Public Sector in New Zealand

This role is responsible for leading New Zealand Treasury and Trade Solutions (“TTS”) and Corporates, Commercial and Public Sector Sales ("CCPS”) . This role is responsible for driving the business and client strategy, new business development, product innovation, client experience, delivery of the financial plans and maintaining a robust risk and controls environment for TTS in New Zealand. The successful candidate will work closely with TTS Australia and Cluster stakeholders as well as partners in Corporate Bank and franchise leaders and will be accountable to the head of the Australia TTS & CCPS for the end-to-end delivery and oversight of the TTS business. The incumbent will also be part of the New Zealand Management Team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Client Strategy: Champion Client engagement within New Zealand and focus on growing the client relationship partnering closely with Corporate Bank and Australia and Cluster TTS Sales. Drive customer segmentation, product positioning, pricing, and marketing plans for each client segment. Own senior TTS sponsorship for top client relationships. Product Strategy: Drive product strategy, execution of key product enhancements, and superior product delivery. Own client experience and work with key partners across Corporate Bank, TTS Sales, Onboarding, Service and Operations. Deliver Market intelligence and feedback as a source of challenge for the product heads.

  • Stakeholder Management: Drive alignment with internal stakeholders, including CCOs and Corporate Bank to deliver the global network to the client.

  • Financial Objectives: Create and deliver a multi-year financial plan tied to key drivers and existing and potential customers. Achieve targets set for revenues, expenses, EBIT, balance sheet, headcount, as well as appropriate ratios such as efficiency ratios, Return on Assets, Return on Tangible Common Equity, RLAP etc.

  • Risk & Controls: Establish a strong risk and control culture across the TTS team. Maintain a pristine controls environment and lead key activities such as regulatory interaction, Issue & CAP management, MCA, Continuity of Business etc. Work closely with second and third line partners to ensure strong engagement with TTS.

  • Market and Regulatory Advocacy: Formulate strategy around external engagement with appropriate regulatory bodies, market infrastructures, central bank, and other industry bodies in New Zealand. Drive Citi’s agenda and desired outcomes.

  • Country Management Governance: As TTS country head, ensure strong representation in key management and governance committees and other local forums.

  • Legal Entity Governance: Ensure the TTS business operates within the framework prescribed for Citibank Canda and follow all required legal entity policies, procedures and regulations.

  • People & Culture: Promote an inclusive and ethical culture.

Knowledge – Experience/ Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of other banking products

  • Advanced marketing and selling skills & ‘customer first’ mind-set

  • Proven track record in sale of cash management, trade, and / or technology based consulting solutions

  • Managed large client relationship from a banking or product perspective

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Persuasive and articulate personality

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal internally and externally with clients

  • Good team skills

  • Demonstrated organizational & planning skills

  • Ability to manage & synthesize many pieces of solution / technical data into a single, flowing solution within tight timeline
