JOB TITLE : Assistant Supervisor of Material, LIRR (Represented)

SALARY RANGE : $ 77,951.36 - $ 92,567.23

DEPT/DIV: Procurement Department

SUPERVISOR : Supervisor of Material

LOCATION : Various

HOURS OF WORK : 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (40 hours)

*This position is represented by the Transportation Communications Union (TCU). *

SUMMARY :

This position is responsible for the supervision of activities for approximately 15 stores employees represented by the TCU organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Supervise Stores Department employees represented by the TCU organization.

  • Monitor the Stores warehouse equipment and handle any technical problems as they arise.

  • Ensure that material is shipped and delivered in a safe and timely manner.

  • Maintain and update maintenance repairs performed within the Stores Section.

  • Ensure policies and procedures for all functions are followed.

  • All other related activities as requested.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED/TASC) approved by a State’s Department of Education or recognized accredited organization.

  • Minimum of four years related experience, including working knowledge of procedures for warehousing, material distribution, receipting and storage.

  • Familiarity with warehouse systems WMS/MAXIMO.

  • Familiarity with Logistical Inventory Management Systems (LIMS) or equivalent.

  • Must possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Must possess effective communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of TCU labor agreement and work rules preferred.

    Step 6 - New WP 95%

    Step 7 - New WP 100%
