As the Automation Engineer for Wyeth Nutritionals Singapore, you will work with a team of engineers and technicians in providing technical support to manufacturing operations in process control, packaging automation and recipe management.

A day in the life of...

  • Provide process/packaging automation control to Operations and Technical Services to troubleshoot issues related to processing, packaging, equipment and/or control system debugging, including strategic troubleshooting and optimisation.

  • Responsible for managing process control system & PLC modifications/projects in design, specification, installation, start-up, commissioning and validation in accordance with established change control procedure.

  • Identify and lead operations related projects, including project conceptualization, feasibility study and budgetary project costing.

  • Develop opportunities for cost reduction through process control or packaging automation improvement, efficiency enhancement, waste reduction and introduction of new and improved processes or equipment.

  • Lead/assist validation activities in equipment/systems qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ), including protocol development, execution and reporting.

  • Facilitate CI projects in process control, processing and packaging operations.

  • Responsible for administration, control, documentation, maintenance and management of the recipe systems in accordance to change control procedures.

  • Assist in capital planning and budgeting.

  • Provide and/or facilitate technical training on process control and packaging automation.

  • Provide coverage and resource backup to fellow Senior/ Engineers.

  • To lead in motivating and reinforcing expected Environmental protection, Health and Safety attitude and behavior in colleagues to provide a safe workplace.

  • Be knowledgeable with applicable Company Quality Standards, procedures and guidelines. To ensure continuous compliance to GMP in designated areas of responsibilities and to immediately report all observations of GMP non-conformances.

  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

What will make you successful

  • Diploma, Degree in Mechantronic / Electrical / Control / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.

  • Preferably 3 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment / Food / Pharmaceuticals industry.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Programming (RSLogix 5/500/5000) & SCADA (Wonderware InTouch & IAS System).

  • Knowledge in computer system (Domain/SQL/Visual Studio) & networking.

  • Experience with processing / packaging equipment, handling projects requiring cGMP and validation compliance, powder handling, liquid processing, thin-film evaporation, UHT, spray drying and packaging (can/sachet/pouch)will be preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team under pressure and tight schedule.
