Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Stafford, Texas

Description We are offering a role based in Stafford, Texas, United States, in the industry of accounts payable. The position involves the detailed tasks of an Accounts Payable Specialist, primarily within an office setting. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, process, and code accounts payable such as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, and check requests in a timely and accurate manner

• Ensure all items conform to standard procedures for proper entry into the financial system

• Investigate and resolve issues associated with processing invoices

• Reconcile vendor accounts as necessary

• Receive, research, and resolve routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status

• Communicate resolutions of discrepancies to the appropriate individuals

• Maintain, file, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports

• Assist in compiling information for audits when required

• Use of financial/accounting software packages

• Effectively use MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint to accomplish tasks

• Demonstrate an ability to multitask and adapt to new skills

• Follow up on pending matters with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of two years of experience working as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and best practices

• Strong understanding of general accounting principles

• Ability to analyze information and utilize problem-solving skills to address issues

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• High degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience

• Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment
