ManpowerGroup Operator Control Room in San Antonio, Texas

Our client, is seeking a Control Room Operator to join their team. As a Control Room Operator, you will be part of the department and supporting the team.

Job Title: Control Room Operator

Location: San Antonio, TX

What’s the Job?

  • Indoor and outdoor work, involving walking, standing, sitting, hearing, bending, and crouching.

  • Exposure to extreme noise, temperatures, uneven ground, and hazardous conditions.

  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, regulations, and lock-out tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

  • Monitor power plant operations for adherence to CPS Energy, state, and federal environmental regulations.

  • Monitor safety and security during emergency response situations.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Operate, start-up, and shut down assigned generating units, coordinating with relevant entities.

  • Conduct rounds, report deficiencies, and support operations during weather-related events.

  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and housekeeping.

  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling and establish priorities.

  • Review procedures, checklists, and plant system drawings.

  • Identify equipment deficiencies and initiate work notifications.

  • Ensure procedural adherence and compliance with CPS Energy policies.

  • Perform control room operator, turbine tender, and auxiliary operator duties proficiently.

  • Work well under pressure and maintain effective communication.

  • Utilize PI Historian for troubleshooting and analysis.

What’s Needed?

  • Requires standing, lifting, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs, and ladders.

  • Mandatory use of personal protective safety equipment.

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds frequently, to move objects.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Control Room Operator.

  • Superior knowledge of thermal units, gas turbines, steam systems, and integrations for efficient production.
