Ford Motor Company BME Business Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah

In this position…

The accelerated growth of Model E business requires a growing Battery manufacturing engineering organization and an Operations and Integration Manager will provide the technical, strategic and business support needed to build organization, associated processes, systems and practices to efficiently delivery the broad scope of work across the Globe: BOSK facilities, 5+ pack assembly systems across NA, LFP Cell and pack in MI, Turkey JV and array and pack assembly systems.This organization is currently managing / executing statement of work currently estimated at approx. 20+ Bil USD.

What you'll do…

Business Operations Management

  • Implement Ford OS within BME: Facilitate BME’s Policy Deployment process and Business Continuity Plan

  • Develop, coordinate and drive implementation of strategic priorities and objectives

  • Collaborate with internal and external Stakeholders to align and track progress to KPI’s: assist in administering and timely completion

  • Provide interface to further align with GDME, PD, IT, MTD, MSAP, PTME, VME and other organizations on evolution of BME business practices.

  • Lead and Support Strategy Meetings, establish channels for efficient governance: Time and data Management discipline, OCM report outs and SARs, developing presentations as required

  • Act as a central pillar for integration across various teams.

  • Aid in Development of Global Next Gen Manufacturing Strategy & associated Technologies Workforce of the Future, Digital Engineering). Encourage collaborative investigations with external organizations

  • Collaborate with Finance team on Department financial forecasting, headcount and budget tracking

  • Manage cross regional alignment : reduce redundancy, bureaucracy, speed up decision making

  • Collaborate with Digital engineering and GDIA teams to accelerate implementation of virtual engineering methods

  • Manage a broad range of coordination activities and also represent leadership in Strategy planning , program milestone reviews and lead cascade of internal and external strategic communications

  • Represent Director in forums he/she may not be able to attend: speak on behalf of BME and revert to ensure alignment

Training and Competency

  • Develop People and Resourcing Strategies for department to futurize long term capabilities and promote retention. Assist with headcount planning and onboarding process

  • Champion department DEI initiatives

  • Evolve Core competency development and growth of the BME manufacturing talent (Learning Maps, skills matrix, training activities including global training weeks sessions Next Gen Needs,

  • Lead People Committee (Voice Improvement Actions, skip levels, BME townhall Events Fundraisers, etc

Quality Systems Leadership

  • Facilitate BME Annual File Review (AFR) Compliance

  • Lead core business processes and provide support toquality operating system andstandards (assembly/ Test / Others specific to Battery) development to ensure that regional skills, resources and limitations are taken into account.

  • Define and encourage implementation of standard engineering methods for engineers across NA

  • Maintain and refine Business Continuity plan for BME Collaborate with BME Quality Lead and Tech Specialists to identify areas of opportunity for new initiatives and improvements (DRI lists for technical areas, quality calendar events in NA etc)

You'll have...

  • Engineering degree required in Mechanical, Electrical or similar

  • Strong business processes experience

  • Minimum 5 years in managing teams on major projects.

  • Ability to work with senior leadership.

  • Relationship / Work Experience with Joint Ventures preferred.

  • Attention to detail and experience in analytical tasks

  • Strong organization, project management and planning skills. Deadline driven

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Conflict Management experience

  • Comprehend strategic direction, conduct independent research on battery related topics tosupport consistent implementation

  • Strong emotional intelligence / self starter, motivated, resourceful and business savvy

  • Flexible work locations (travel as required)
