Robert Half Staff Accountant in Newark, New Jersey

Description We are on the hunt for a meticulous and analytical Staff Accountant to be part of our dynamic team. This role is based in Newark, New Jersey, and is an integral part of our accounting department. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including managing both accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and managing journal entries and the general ledger. You will also be in charge of executing month end close procedures and utilizing various accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable.

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial information.

• Manage general ledger activities and prepare journal entries.

• Execute month end close procedures to ensure timely financial reporting.

• Utilize various accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline accounting processes.

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use.

• Analyze financial data to assist in the preparation of financial reports.

• Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all internal processes and relevant regulations.

• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities promptly. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Ability to handle Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close process

• Proficiency in using NetSuite software

• Familiarity with Oracle software

• Experience with QuickBooks

• Proficiency in using SAP software

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Proven problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of current accounting regulations and standards

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
