Description

As a Senior Accountant in the retail industry, your role involves overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. You might also be responsible for managing budgets, monitoring cash flow, and conducting internal audits to identify areas for improvement.

In a retail setting, you would likely deal with various revenue streams, such as sales from physical stores, e-commerce platforms, and potentially wholesale or distribution channels. Additionally, you may need to manage inventory accounting, including tracking the cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and inventory turnover.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience in a senior accounting role

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Comprehensive understanding and experience with general ledger operations

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with month-end close procedures

• Knowledge of SAP software is essential

• Familiarity with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and its requirements

• Experience in the retail or clothes and accessories industry is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required

• Professional accounting certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
