Amazon Learning Experience Designer, Community Operations in Nashville, Tennessee

Community Operations accelerates Amazon’s business growth by improving the health of relationships in communities where we operate. We do this by amplifying the voice of our communities within Amazon using data and building solutions to earn community trust. Community Operations supports global operations by building awareness of the responsibility we have with the scale of our operation on the communities we serve.

The Community Operations Culture team owns community-related learning, content, and communications. Our customers are Amazon Associates and Leaders, Delivery Service Providers, Delivery Associates and Delivery Partners, and ultimately, the communities where Amazon operates. We seek a Learning Experience Designer to own design and development of learning and content that create awareness on issues that can negatively impact the community, drive change in behavior to prevent these impacts, and create positive relationships in their community.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and develop creative, learner-centered, performance-based training materials utilizing interactive eLearning modules, videos, and other modalities

  • Own and create elearning modules, assessments, measurement tools, and evaluations of training effectiveness

  • Develop scalable modules to ensure all training programs are consistent and ready for a potentially global audience

  • Facilitate scoping meetings with subject-matter-experts and technical project leads; devise and drive training communication updates

  • Acute attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment

  • Effectively manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience with authoring tools, such as Lectora, Storyline, or similar

  • Bachelors Degree required in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or similar field, or equivalent experience

  • 3 + years relevant experience in an instructional design role

  • Experience designing and developing interactive training materials in multiple modalities, including ILT, e-learning, video, and/or job aids

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid project management skills including, planning work, managing details, and keeping multiple tasks/projects on track

  • Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPTD, CPT, PMP, etc.)

  • Advanced Multimedia development in audio, video, and/or animation (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Experience creating high quality and engaging voice-over for training materials

  • Experience developing training content for localization to multiple languages/cultures

  • Demonstrated ability to assess training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders

  • Exceptional ability to earn trust of subject matter experts and stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
