About Team

Aladdin Data (AD) is entrusted with maintaining all data integral to the investment decision process. The function serves BlackRock the Investment Manager and its BlackRock Solutions (BRS) business, in our proprietary Aladdin® end-to-end investment platform. This team closely partners with key internal teams, such as Portfolio Management, Global Capital Markets, Relationship Management, Portfolio Compliance, Risk Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, and others, to ensure their business data needs are met accurately, timely, and efficiently.

Within AD sits the Data Analytics Quality (DAQ) function, which owns price, economy, security and portfolio level risk analytics quality control, index and returns controls along with the governance and design of these QC processes. This team ensures our clients have the highest quality of risk analytics & performance outcomes. We do so by focusing on building scale and efficiency by integrating data science to craft and implement a centralized quality platform for key risk analytics metrics. The team strives to build in-depth subject matter expertise in risk analytics, return outcomes, capital markets as well as BlackRock's proprietary risk models and Aladdin software suite to service that mission.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee production, process, and forecast activities. Ensure accurate and timely reporting to senior management and stakeholders. Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive quality control frameworks and validation processes for risk and portfolio analytics. Provide high-level guidance and expertise on reference data, returns, performance metrics, index information, pricing, and economic data to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest standards of data integrity.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, and succession planning to maintain a strong and capable workforce. Involve in all aspects of team management, including talent acquisition, development, and retention. Develop and implement strategic staffing models, maintain depth charts, and create robust succession plans to ensure team sustainability and continuity. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, providing coaching and mentorship to support individual and team growth. Coordinate with senior leadership to align people management strategies with organizational goals.

  • Ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to quality control processes. Implement quality assurance programs to maintain high standards. Leverage advanced research skills and critical thinking to analyze analytics trends and operator decision-making. Develop and propose enhancements to quality control models and methodologies based on data-driven insights. Ensure that all proposed changes align with organizational goals and industry standards, driving continuous improvement in quality control processes.

  • Drive innovation and lead change initiatives to improve processes, products, and customer experiences. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability. Strategize on adapting to changing market conditions while ensuring compliance and minimizing risk. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting creative problem-solving and encouraging the adoption of new technologies. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure innovations align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Manage risks associated with process changes to maintain operational stability and efficiency.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Client teams to ensure a seamless flow of information, helping to translate complex data into actionable insights. Develop a deep understanding of client data requirements and service level expectations. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that services and solutions are tailored to meet or exceed their expectations. Drive initiatives to improve data accessibility and usability, enhancing the overall client experience and strengthening long-term relationships. Provide strategic guidance on how data analysis can support business growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Champion and lead initiatives to enhance procedures and oversee projects within the quality landscape. Take ownership of identifying areas for improvement and drive change that aligns with organizational goals. Engage stakeholders at all levels to communicate the benefits of proposed changes, building consensus and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Implement best practices to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards. Monitor project outcomes to ensure success and adjust strategies as needed to maintain progress.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company's goals and objectives. Provide leadership and guidance to teams, ensuring effective execution of strategies. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Lead the implementation of solutions on the themes identified in production ecosystem for the quality of financial products quality in the system. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure products analytics and performance meet market/client requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensure compliance with production and asset nuanced, quality policies, and best practices. Oversee the use of technology and data management tools to enhance efficiency and support business objectives. Stay updated on emerging technologies in the financial services sector.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and asset performance depth in the Risk Analytics and Solutions provisioning in the financial industry. Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and take decisive action to address challenges.

  • Ability to lead and manage teams, set strategic objectives, and drive results in alignment with business goals. Capability to assist in creating a team vision, planning and executing steps to align to Key Performance Indicators and objectives.

  • Understanding client needs and delivering solutions that meet or exceed expectations. Comprehensive understanding of financial services, including industry regulations, market trends, products, and services.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends to make informed decisions. Proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing projects to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.

  • Knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies, with a focus on continuous improvement. Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks.

  • Experience leading change initiatives and driving innovation to improve processes and outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of financial mathematics, analysis, and modeling techniques. Familiarity with financial technology (FinTech), data analysis tools, and relevant software platforms.

Experience:

  • A bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering is required.

  • 15-20 years of financial services experience and a in-depth understanding of Financial Markets, preferably within the Investment Management industry, with a proven track record of success in progressively responsible roles.

  • Possess and demonstrate a proven understanding of fixed income, equity, and derivative financial instruments.

  • Significant experience in leading teams, with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop talent, oversee performance, and drive strategic initiatives.

  • Experience in developing and implementing business strategies that align with organizational goals. Demonstrated ability to drive results and meet key performance indicators.

  • Familiarity with risk management processes and building quality policies and client need compliant tailored solutions . Experience in ensuring adherence to industry regulations and managing operational risks. Proven track record in project management.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects from conception to completion. Experience in developing and enhancing financial products and services. Proven ability to drive innovation and implement change.

  • Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, client teams & industry partners. Strong communication and collaboration skills is a must

  • Experience in implementing quality control processes and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Experience or education related to agile methodologies is a plus.

  • Experience with financial technology (FinTech), data management, and analytical tools. Ability to leverage technology to improve processes and outcomes.
