Ankura Senior Financial Accountant (Hybrid Working) in London, United Kingdom

Role Overview:

This position supports Ankura Business Services our internal firm services function. The Senior Financial Accountant role is a key role within the Global Ankura Accounting team, reporting to the Finance Controller. The role, which is predominately focused on the EMEA and APAC entities across nine countries, is based in London. Ankura currently operates a flexible hybrid model, working approximately two days a week in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring that all month-end activities are completed timely and accurately

  • Prepare monthly management accounts with full P&L and balance sheet ownership including revenue recognition, expense analysis and balance sheet reconciliations. To ensure provision of accurate reporting and analysis in line with agreed timescales and group policy

  • Lead Group & Individual entity Audits across EMEA & APAC regions including being the primary contact for external auditor and ensuring timely completion and filing

  • Prepare annual consolidation workings and disclosures for Group Audit

  • Prepare annual working papers for annual audits

  • Support the preparation of fiscal returns e.g. Corporation Tax, VAT WHT, PSA, Statistical Returns etc

  • Supporting the rollout of new entities, including ERP testing

  • Support and partner with the wider Finance Team; Accounts Payable, Billing, Treasury and Payroll

  • Support the development and mentoring of junior team members

  • Ensuring a robust control environment is operated and maintained.

  • Recognition and improvement of inefficient processes, through standardisation and automation with the aid of technology where possible

Requirements:

  • Qualified ACA with at least 2+ years of post-qualification experience

  • External audit experience essential

  • Experience in working in a global organisation in a multicurrency environment

  • Experience in the professional services preferred.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles and financial concepts

  • Strong excel skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines, and managing conflicting priorities

  • Self-motivated, organised and adaptable in a fast- paced environment

  • Use of Workday Financials would be an advantage but not required
