Job Description

Maintain a comprehensive and secure medical record for continuous patient care, research, statistical and billing purposes. The Quality Control Imaging Technician is responsible for reviewing scanned documents for overall image quality and accuracy of indices assigned during the scanning process according to established service level agreements. Understands that validation and completion of the quality review process ensures integrity and legality of the electronic medical record. Also performs the duties of the Document Management Technician and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Three (3) or more years of HIM or Clerical experience.

  • Completed college level Medical Terminology course.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (Basic keyboarding and computer skills), Microsoft Word, and ten-key skills – Successful completion of the following tests:

  1. Windows

  2. Ten-key, 4000 key strokes per hour

  3. Microsoft Word

  • Ability to problem-solve.

  • Detailed Oriented.

  • Good hand and eye coordination.

  • Superior organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced production and sometimes-stressful environment.

  • Ability to perform team-oriented job tasks with a conscientious awareness of detail and accuracy.

  • Must be able to multi-task.

  • Successful completion of filing screening tests.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).

  • Written, telephone and manual dexterity skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HIM or scanning experience.

  • Individual has taken college level courses or Associates degree in Health Information Technology or similar degree.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems.
