Overview

Performs routine and preventive maintenance on electronic medical equipment and clinical equipment in a hospital. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment under the guidance and direct supervision of an experienced healthcare technology management (HTM) professional. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the job, activity or function, needs supervision or mentoring on advanced assignments. This is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled PM or safety testing on equipment requiring a general type inspection having low or no patient risk involved.

  • Performs repairs on low or no patient risk, single component, multiunit medical equipment. This equipment would be considered general patient care types of equipment that generally would pose little danger to the patient and where backup equipment would be available if needed.

  • Receives training on equipment in order to perform the service duties required.

  • Performs incoming inspections, sets up records, develops PM schedule on new equipment. These inspections are of the routine type with low patient risk and usually repetitive in nature.

  • Maintains a parts inventory by ordering replacement parts as parts are used from inventory or as they are needed to complete a repair.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent Basic electronics training from a junior college, military, or trade school. Factory training may substitute. Graduation from a BMET program that includes medical equipment training, medical terminology, and some internship at a hospital preferred. and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training

  • AAMI ICC Certification Preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $23.34/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
