Kevin Sweet at Robert Half Finance and Accounting has partnered with one of DFW's largest and most sought after employers to work for in DFW for several Senior Accountant positions! This particular division, the wholesale / distribution group is rapidly growing and is looking to add several Senior Accountants to their team! As Senior Accountant your main responsibilities would include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates should enjoy analytical tasks, challenges, and a fun and fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

• Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

Interested candidates must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, three plus years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing and preparing financial statements. CPA or CPA candidate is highly preferred but not required, Being highly proficient in Excel is required as well as hands on experience with a major ERP system.

• Possession of a University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the retail or food industry

• Proficiency in the use of accounting software

• Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Experience in preparing financial statements and budget reports

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
