Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Houston, Texas

Description Robert Half seeks an enterprising, strong Accounting Manager for an immediate opening at a growing, dynamic company. In this position, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. Ideally, you will be able to establish and scale company accounting and finance operations. Located in the Houston, Texas area, this Accounting Manager position would be on a permanent basis.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Play a key role in the implementation of NetSuite Financials, which includes system and process design, data migration, testing, training, and go-forward system administration

  • Team up with FP& A and accounting management to develop relevant, timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, which includes document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes

  • Provide regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant

  • Lead and supervise the accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met

  • Assemble various technical accounting policies, procedures, and analyses Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset

  • Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

  • 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience

  • Proficiency in change management

  • Process Improvement experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Shared Services

  • Key Performance experience

  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
