Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT has the following opening for a Sr. Data Engineer.

Summary of Duties: Create and optimize data models for infrastructure and workflow. Design and develop predictive models for the group benefit line of business. Utilize latest data technologies to develop data assets that support organizational decision making via prototyping, data discovery, and profiling. Leverage data mining and business intelligence tools to analyze large amounts of data identifying relationships and patterns within the data. Partner with various parts of the organization to build a working knowledge of the organization, business, processes, and its customers. Collaborate with a high-performing, forward-focused team of product owners and business stakeholders. Solve a range of multi-dimensional technical and business questions through data analysis. Work independently and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Utilize expertise of data pipelines and implementation of data science/machine learning models to design and develop data pipelines for predictive model development. Architect data solutions for complex data problems. Telecommuting available.

Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, or Business Analytics; plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or alternate occupation. In addition, position requires 2 years of experience in the following skills: SQL; PL/SQL; Snowflake; Python; Hadoop; Hive; Unix; Linux; Shell Scripting. Telecommuting available.

Employer will also accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in an accepted field and 5 years of progressive, post baccalaureate experience in job offered or accepted alternative occupation. In addition, position requires 2 years of experience in the following skills: SQL; PL/SQL; Snowflake; Python; Hadoop; Hive; Unix; Linux; Shell Scripting. Telecommuting available.

Salary Range: $140,067 to $170,040 per YEAR

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$140,067 - $170,040
