This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Process Engineer will plan, support, and where applicable, execute engineering deliverables for one or more of our broad core technology or engineering area. We seek a professional who will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering field at our Gainesville refinery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support on plan, design based on leading practices and estimate time and cost, overseeing construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components.

  • Analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures.

  • Design and improve manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, testing manufactured products to maintain quality.

  • Be process safety champion at the site to include MOC super user and management, PSI owner, risk assessment gap and gap closure plans to management, PRA, RCA and PSSR activities.

  • Monitor process controls for rate, yield, quality and energy efficiency opportunities; identify gap and propose technical solutions.

  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at a refinery

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodology

  • Strong analytical skillset
