Amazon Senior Accountant, Games and Subsidiaries in Culver City, California

Description

The Digital Content and Services Accounting team is looking for a detailed oriented Senior Analyst to join our Games and Subs Accounting team. The Games and Subs Accounting team supports Amazon’s video game businesses, as well as the Audible and Twitch subsidiaries. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for various accounting and reporting functions, including monthly close and preparing quarterly deliverables for SEC reporting in accordance with US GAAP. The role will also require partnering and collaborating with key partners within accounting, finance, tech, legal, and the business in order to determine accounting requirements associated with existing and new product launches.

Key job responsibilities

Key job responsibilities:

• Preparing journal entries related to digital content accounting, including capitalization of content assets and related amortization expense.

• Prepare and review key monthly and quarterly deliverables, including balance sheet reconciliations and footnote disclosure support.

• Analyzing and explaining fluctuations and providing meaningful financial reporting to management.

• Review agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate accounting treatment.

• Research, provide, and communicate technical accounting guidance.

• Ensure compliance of appropriate accounting policies and internal controls.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification

  • Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA

  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

  • Strong proficiency in Excel.

  • Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, results-oriented experience.

  • Effective verbal and written communication.

  • Self-Motivated, Detail-Oriented, Curious, Enthusiastic, and Adaptable.

  • Ability to analyze complex accounting issues and process inefficiencies and recommend possible solutions.

  • Ability to meet deadlines while juggling multiple prioriteis.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
