MetroHealth Sr Accountant - General Accounting in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8am-4:30pm

Summary:

Performs accounting duties, completes monthly financial analysis and prepares audit schedules in support of the System Financial statements with a high level of complexity. Demonstrates the highest standards of accuracy, sound reasoning, and comprehensive synthesis. Evaluates and challenges current practices and methods for reporting and analyzing information. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field. Minimum of five years of financial accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software products with a minimum of intermediate proficiency in MS Excel. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Strong presentation, written and oral communication skills often requiring a diplomatic approach with customers. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with strong attention to detail. Willing and able to work additional hours as needed (i.e. during the month-end close process). Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred: Master’s degree and/or Current CPA license. Advanced MS Excel and other Microsoft Office Skills. Accounting experience in Healthcare industry. Public Accounting or Financial Reporting Experience. Experience with Infor Lawson.

Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
