Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Chicago, Illinois

Description: A manufacturing company in Chicago is hiring for a Sr. Accountant as they expand their accounting department. This person will have an important role on the team, focusing on accounting process optimization, and will assist in building out a larger, more dynamic accounting team in the years to come.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage general ledger account reconciliations during regular closing procedures, including oversight and direct execution..

  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for essential accounting functions and collaborate with staff to refine and optimize routine processes.

  • Enhance and supervise current accounting processes to integrate automation for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Support all corporate audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

  • Collaborate with the IT department to lead the planning, execution, and assessment of accounting technologies, aiming for enhancements aligned with established objectives.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree or CPA preferred

  • 5-10+ years of accounting experience

  • Previous experience with managing accounting automation

  • Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft Access experience
